Hari om everybody.
This week we finished translating the book that we started last week in telugu. We revised on the new words that we learnt and tried to make some new sentences using those words.
All the kids were given handouts - with Telugu Vowels and consonants. Please make sure to bring it to every class. Also make a folder with a notebook and pencil.
We worked on the reading skills of the students. Small 2 / 3 letter words were written on the board, and the kids tried to read them.
Class was concluded with a flash quiz.
Homework for next class - Learn the weekdays in Telugu.
There were only 4 kids who could make it to the class this week. Please make every attempt not to miss the class, so it would be easy to co-ordinate and plan as well.
Hope to see you all in two weeks.

Telugu Sr Class - Sept 14, 2014
There were about 6 kids today. We started the class with introductions in Telugu - their name, grade and schools attending. Most of them are already very good in Telugu. They can understand very well, but need to work on their speaking skills.
We asked for input from the kids on what they want to do in the coming classes and what they would like to learn - spoken or written. Most of the kids did not show interest in writing. They want some fun way of learning to speak Telugu more fluently.
We worked on translating a short story in English to Telugu. The teachers read one line and each kid has to translate it to Telugu.
The we had a quiz; we divided the class to two groups and had a quiz, where they need to translate some words / sentences given by the teachers in Telugu.
Plan for coming weeks:
Work on their fluency by involving them in more conversations, prepared speeches, book translations like we did in first class, work on a small skit to present in one of the assembly presentations. Also work on some writing based on each kids level.
